Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull Movie Review!

.

After watching the movie last weekend, I don't think that Indiana Jones is going to be the top grossing movie of the year as what many people has predicted. Ok, maybe it will. Well, I'm not saying that the movie is bad but the end result is somehow dissapointing. I'm not really a major fan of the franchise so I will based on my opinion as if I've never watch an Indiana Jones movie before.

Steven Spielberg, George Lucas & Harrison Ford are back once again this time teaming up for a fourth installment after 19 years since their last Indy movie went on to the big screen. The movie started off with Dr. Jones (Harrison Ford) being held captives by Irina (Cate Blanchett) who needed his help to uncover a mysterious crystal skull object. Of course, Indy manages to escape from the grasp of Irina & hundred of Russian soldiers. Hell, he even manages to survive from a nuclear blast!

Eventually he sets to find the crystal skull himself & seek out the truth & secret behind the mysterious of it with some little help from Mutt (Shia LaBeouf), Karen (Marion Ravenwood) & Professor Oxley (John Hurt). I would say that the movie started off pretty well with the right tone & direction but unfortunately it continue to lost that touch as the story went on. The pace begins to slow down & it's starting to get bored.

On & off you got yourself some chasing sequences & a few acting jokes along the way to lighten up the situation but it didn't help much cause the story is preditable without any twist & turn or suprises. Well, you'll get some suprises in the end but it's kind of ridiculous. Anyway, you don't have to wait till the end of the movie to find out that the whole story is indeed ridiculous. You will eventually realize that there is still alot of loop hole that need to be fill in.

It's kind of sad to see that there isn't any much developement on the characters in the movie as well. You got a number of wonderful cast here & none of them is given a proper developement on the characters they've played. It feels like they were there just for the sake of being there. It's hard for the audiences to fall in love with the characters especially for those who have never seen an Indiana Jones movie before.

Overall, I think that it's neither a great or a bad movie. It's the kind of movie that does not have a wonderful storyline, developement on any of the characters involve, a spectacular special effects or a great action sequences. For those who just wanted to watch a movie with ridicilous storyline & scenes as well, I guess Indiana Jones is the right choice for you. If not, you may just want to wait for the DVD to release & watch it at home instead.
