Heath Ledger: 1979 - 2008

Heath Ledger was found dead in his apartment at Manhattan on Tuesday at 3.26pm.
He was only 28. Apparently there isn't any confirmation of a suicide here & it is believe
that the cause of death might be due to drug overdose.

We are deeply sad to hear such a tragic news & may he rest in peace. Our hearts
goes out to his family & friends.

Cloverfield Movie Review!

.

Ok, we watched the movie yesterday night & here is what I have to say. As you may have already knew, this film is basically shot entirely using a hand-held camcorder which is similar to the movie Blair Witch Project. But unlike Blair which happen to have 2 cameras, Cloverfield only involve with one. The story begins with the introduction of the characters who eventually got caught in a chaotic situation when a monster begins to stomped the city. Five people to be exact. So with only one camera throughout the entire movie, you will hardly get to see the other guy who is holding it.

You may want to pretend that it is you who is holding instead. While everyone is trying to get out from the city, one is trying to reach his girlfriend with his best friend tagging along & happen to record their entire journey.

Ok, if you're wondering is the monster going to appear much on screen, don't worry, you will get a good look at it. It is a unique monster I would say. I was wondering that with the monster being so unique, will the audiences actually care about a guy trying to reach his girlfriend?

It might sound romantic & touching but you hardly get to know any of them since there isn't much developement to their characters. Marketing is also one of the major concern. Judging at the posters & trailers, it actually build up the mystery of the monster & not the characters in the movie. The only interesting character I believe is the guy who is holding the camera & taping the entire journey since he's being the closest with the audiences where they have to journey together with him throughout the entire movie in his camcorder.

As for the hand-held technic, you don't have to worry about it being badly done cause from my point of view, it is way better than Blair Witch Project although some people might still experiences dizziness. You will get involved directly with the action & experience it instead of just watching a recording video of what he & his friends were doing. With the combine of a great sound effect, you really will get to enjoy the full horrific of the situation which is a great experience for such kind of movie.

Overall, this movie is well made & enjoyable to watch although there is a lack of characters developement including the monster & might cause certain people to experience dizziness. For those who will easily get dizzy because of the unstable movement on the screen, well, remember to bring along some panadols with you.

Oh ya, don't forget to stay all the way until the credits end.

Another new video from the movie Cloverfield has surfaced!
Actually by watching at the video, it sort of reminds me of the

is one scene where Godzilla pulled three boats at once? Well, not
exactly the same but almost identical. Anyway, enjoy the video!

Aliens Vs. Predator: Requiem Movie Review!

.

WOW! What a crappy movie for such a huge franchise. This movie is so bad that we actually felt like leaving the cinema after the film reaches half way. However, we managed to continue watching until the very end of it & ended up torturing ourselves.

AVP-R is actually a sequel to the very first AVP & it begins where the first movie has left. A predalien basically goes berserk & start killing every predators (think there is only 2 predators if I'm not wrong) on board & eventually causing the spacecraft to crash back to earth.

Come to think about it, the predator should be the one who is causing the spacecraft to crash since his aiming skill is so bad that he basically needs to retake the shooting lesson. So, after crashing on earth, the aliens start doing what they do best, make lots of baby alien & kill everyone.

Soon after knowing the truth about his fellow colleagues who have perish, a mysterious lonely predator comes to earth to the rescue, err..... sort of. Yar, you've heard me. One lonely predator. Only one! This predator must have just graduated from the non-aliens shooting course cause he just basically shoots at everything instead of the aliens.

So by doing that, you can imagine what kind of damages is being done. Lights out, panic all over town, well, you get the point. As you may already know that this movie is about two monsters fighting each other, so the humans in this movie are just there for the killing. Actually there are some background story for each of the characters, but the way I see it, it's just pointless cause in the end they all died so fast & there is just no further developement. By the way, their story don't even seem like it fits or related to this movie at all.

As for the action part, well, if you have watched the first movie, you won't find anything new in this one. I mean how great can it be if there's only one lonely predator against plenty of aliens. It might sounds good but trust me, it won't looks good at all on screen & we're talking about sequel where things normally get bigger & better. This one feels like one cheap low budget type of alien vs. predator movie.

Overall, this movie does not worth your money or time to watch it in the cinema so you might want to wait for the DVD to release. It might be good if you just rent it instead of buying, well unless you are a great fans of the first alien & predator movie & wish to add into your collection just like me.

January DVD Releases I Must Own...

.

Ok, I know this movie sucks but I'm still going to buy the DVD cause I'm a great fan of Resident Evil games including the figurines & since I had owned the DVD of the previous two movies, I might as well get on with the third one. Hopefully a fourth movie will not comes to fruition cause I don't think I'll be able to take it anymore watching something I loved being destroy just like that. Hmmmm... but there is this news which I've heard from all kind of sources mentioning that the japanese are going to make a Resident Evil movie using computer graphics which similar to those like Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. Sounds good & tempting.

After grossing for more than US$147 million worldwide, Resident Evil: Extinction will be release both in DVD & Blu-Ray format on the 1st of January 2008. It also comes in a 3-Pack with all 3 movies inside but this version will only be available in Blu-Ray format. For those owning region 1 PSP, this movie also comes in UMD format.

Get ready for some sick twisted gory violence bloody but cute & adorable lovelable characters in action as Happy Tree Friends is coming to you in this 4-discs box set DVD which includes the complete episode from season one!

This is a DVD that you would not want your kids to watch especially for those young & innocent as it contains lots & lots & lots of violence stuffs. Well, unless they love this sort of thing.

I remember watching one of these episode on MTV & completely fell in love with the characters.

Well, my all time favourite Happy Tree Friends characters will be Giggles & as for my girlfriend, she loves Cuddles & Flippy! Hahaha... if they are going to make a movie version, bet it's going to be one of the bloodiest movie ever for an animation.

Happy Tree Friends complete series set will be release on the 8th of January 2008! Can't wait for this one!

Music!
