The Warlords Movie Review!

Just watched The Warlords yesterday night & I must say that the movie is quite good although there are some areas that need improvement. Lets start with the good part first shall we.

I really impress with Andy performance in this movie cause he has given something that you normally would not see him in his other movies. You just love every shot of his on screen.

Jet Li still looks great but basically you have seen him in this kind of performance on his other movies such as Hero or Fearless. So to me, it is not a major breakthrough for him.

As for Takeshi, well, I haven't actually watched alot of his previous movies but overall he looks great & I love the role that he played. On my opinion, I guess its really suits him.

The movie begins with 3 mens who become sworn brothers & on their way to a tragic & sad ending. There are certain scenes in the movie that are really emotional that will basically left you in tears. I'm hearing people crying in the cinema & that's prove how emotional this film can be. Not sure if they are crying because they wanted to get the hell out of the cinema to have their refund or what. Well, I'm not going into details of how the story goes cause I do not want to give away spoiler.

Ok, here comes the bad part. The battle scene is really a major disaster. I don't think it's really well executed. You can sense that there is something wrong with it but not sure how to explain. It just doesn't seem right to me. Think is the choreography. One major thing that spoil the moment of a great war fight for an asian film is always the cast for the extras. You can alway tell that they are basically an extras acting in the background, shouting & waving their hands & you just couldn't put yourself in the situation that you are actually watching a real war scene. No 100% effort & lack of energy & courage in it.

They really should train them well in order to delivered a great scene especially in this case, a war scene. Some other scenes are so typically being shot just to amplified the situation & is not done in a natural way, scene such as a little baby crying with a scar on the face & men crying for help from a far distance & eventually left to die. I guess only for those who have watched the film will know what I mean. Anyway, if they have shorten the length for the war scene & instead concentrate more on the story line for each of the characters, I guess it would have make the movie an even much better outcome.

Well, overall this movie is really worth checking out. Try to forget about wanting to watch a movie with a great war fight scene or kung fu action by Jet Li cause it does not have any of those qualities. Just try to watch it instead of the great performances & emotional attached in this movie & you will definitely going to have a great time!

30 Days Of Night Movie Review!

Based on the popular graphic novel, 30 Days Of Night basically is about a bunch of vampires invading a small town somewhere in Alaska & start sucking everybody there.

One thing interesting & different about this movie than the rest of other vampires movies is, well, these vampires actually do not encourage their victims to turn, you know, vampires bite you & you become one of them, instead they will chop off their victim's head to prevent the transformation once they had the taste of their blood.

Hahaha.... selfish yet abit funny don't you think. This way you won't be able to raise an army of vampires & make the killing easier & faster. Well, maybe they just want to have the entire town all by themselves, you'll never know. I guess only the writers will knew.

Ok, one thing from the movie that I'm not really sure if it's true or not. The reason the title call 30 Days Of Night is because every once a year, the town will experiences a complete darkness for a month. That's mean no sun but only moon. Is there such a place? Hmmm.... too lazy to find out the truth from the internet so I guess I will never know the answer. Hopefully they will mention something about this on the DVD.

If it's true, that would be scary! One whole month without sunshine. Hahaha... but I think there will not be any vampires right? Are there? Does vampire exist? The vampires version in this movie actually does not look like a vampire to me. The way they behave & their movement sort of look like a zombie to me. I mean fast type zombie that can talk.

After awhile, this movie feels like a combination of movie such as Sin City & Dawn Of The Dead. Maybe that is the whole idea. Well, there is this scene from the movie that I really liked which basically involve a group of people hiding & hearing long distance screaming & gunshot. I feel that its really build up the scariness of the situation.

Overall, it's a one hell of a bloody ride for us & we really enjoy ourselves alot although there is a lack of characters build up & story line. If you are those typical bloody gory not to mention ultra violence type of audience, this is definitely the right movie for you.

While for those who experience heart attack condition, kindly avoid this movie. There is this scene where my mum actually close her eyes cause she finds it too violence. I'm not going to spoil it here so you all will just have to go & watch it in the cinema or DVD if you have missed it.

December DVD Releases I Must Own...

Captain Jack Sparrow is back in this third & maybe final chapter in the caribbean saga. Actually come to think about it, yar, they should call it the end cause this movie is so long & boring that we almost actually wanting to leave the cinema & sneak our way out to the next door.

We love the 1st & 2nd movie alot but when it comes to a sequel movie, the third will always be a complete dissapointment as usual. Not sure why, maybe sequel is always meant for being a bigger budget, special effect, action sequences & with all this, the story line is sort of being ignore.

With a production budget of US$300 million, pirates only able to gross a total of US$309 million domestically but when it comes to a total worldwide grossing which is around US$961 million, well, that would be a pretty huge success for a lousy movie. The DVD will be release in both single & two disc limited edition DVD & of course in a Blu-Ray disc as well on the 04th of Dec.

This is probably one of the best movie when it comes to being the third in a sequel. Not even Spidey or Jack Sparrow can make a better sequel than Jason Bourne.

Hahaha... actually I haven't watched the first & second chapter of Bourne so I'm not sure if the third one is way better than the previous two movies. But according to her, this is the best of all. Hehehe... think I'll need to take back my word about Spidey & Jack since I have not watched the last two installment.

But one thing for sure is that we went to watched this movie twice in the cinema & still enjoyed it alot.

One disadvantage being a sequel is usually continuation story but for this movie, you don't have to actually went all the way to watched the first & second just to understand or enjoyed it. That's what made it so success. Sort of like X-Men 2. With a total worldwide gross of over US$437 million, the bourne series will be release in a Jason Bourne Collection DVD & HD DVD with all three movies in it on the 11th of December! Definitely buying!

Love the figurines, the comics, TV series & of course the movie! Basically I love everything that got to do with the Simpsons. Sometime she even said that I behave like Homer once awhile which errr..... I think is not a good thing. Hahaha... Watched too many Simpsons stuff I guess.

After 18 years, finally the movie version is out & it's the best movie this year! Watched it the second time in the cinema & still can't have enough of it. Planning to watched it the third & fourth time but she doesn't allow me to, so I guess I will just have to wait for the DVD to be release.

I'm not going to say anything about the movie cause as a fan of the Simpsons, you will sure hear alot of good stuff coming out so I guess it is not fair to write anything about the movie. With a production budget of US$75 million & ended up with a total worldwide gross of over US$525 million, the Simpsons Movie will be release both in DVD standard & Blu-Ray disc format on the 18th of Dec! Can't wait for this one! Confirm buying. Hopefully a limited edition mumbo jumbo stuff will be release as well.

Enchanted Movie Review!

Just watched the movie Enchanted last week & only got the time to do the review today. Been busy & tired this few days & hopefully everything will be back to normal soon. Well, is the movie really that enchanting as what the title stands? Probably not.

Hahaha.... at first I don't even plan to watch the movie at all. She finds it interesting that a princess from a 2D animation world coming to the real world & still behaving like she's in the cartoon world just makes her wanting to go & it. You know, singing & dancing, those sort of act where you usually saw in a disney 2D animation film.

Well, the movie begins with both the prince & princess falling in love at first sight. Before heading to her wedding ceremony, she is banished to the modern-day Manhattan street by the evil queen who's afraid that she might replace her as the new queen.

Once there & seemingly helpless, she received aid from a lawyer (who apparently already has a girlfriend) & begins to fall in love with him. Hahaha.... one question eventually pop up from my mind. What about love at first sight? Greedy princess.

There is this scene where she cry over a couple who is going for a divorce & I was laughing so hard at that time thinking that the princess herself also facing a similiar situation & to give her extra credit, she has caused the lawyer who've helped her, breaking up with his girlfriend & falling in love with her. Bad princess.

After knowing the dissapearance of his true love, the prince himself travel to our world with the help of a chipmunk to rescue her & eventually finds out that she no longer in love with him. So sad....... I fell pity for the prince actually. Only one & no second chance to change or anything. Basically sayonara prince cause I fell in love with a more talkative guy & you are not. Mean princess. Hahaha.... that proves how cruel our world is & even a princess from an enchanted world who steps into our world will become cruel & mean eventually.

Guess it's time to say something nice. Amy Adams who played the lovely princess really did an amazing job that gives audiences an impression that they are actually watching a 2D animation character comes to life.

Well, as the movie continue moving forward, you might have the feeling like you're watching Sound of Music instead. Not much great about the special effect except for the chipmunk & dragon. The chipmunk looks cute & adorable while the dragon, well, basically look like a cartoon dragon comes to life. Alvin & The Chipmunk might even look better. You'll never know.

Those who loves disney, singing, chipmunk & princess falling in love, this is the right movie for you. Those looking for something enchanting happenning in the real world, forget it, cause this movie does not have any big magical sequence. Abit dissapointed with that cause I really hope to see something enchanted stuff happening in the real world. Overall, it's a fun, funny & enjoyable movie to watch with your family, friends & lover as well!
